Filmfare Awards 2011, 56th Filmfare Awards Winners

Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol won the best actor and actress, respectively, for "My Name is Khan" on Saturday 56 th Filmfare Awards, which was ruled by small budget film "Udaan" which bagged eight trophies.

Karan Johar won the award for best director for "My Name is Khan, starring Salman Khan, while" Dabangg "was declared Best Film at the gala event organized by Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan. The two were at their wittiest best.

But it is the first director of Vikramaditya Motwane of "Udaan" which bagged top prizes. The film won the best screenplay and best story to Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, best cinematography for Mahendra Shetty, best background score for Amit Trivedi, best male supporting actor Ronit Roy, and Best Film (Jury).

"Udaan" also won Best Director (jury) Motwane award and best sound design for Kunal Sharma. Pritam Das also won the same award for "Dhokha Aur Love Sex."

"Dabangg" the highest grossing film of 2010, won five awards, including best action for Master Vijayan, best female debutant Sonakshi Sinha, and best music for Sajid-Wajid and Lalit Pandit.

Namrata Santiago won the best female singer "Munni" in "Dabangg" and shared it with Sunidhi Chauhan, who won for "Sheila Jawani ki" ("Tees Maar Khan").

Alegre romantic film "Banda Baaj Baaraat" took three awards - for best debut director Manish Sharma, the best male debut actor Ranveer Singh and the best victory of Habib Faisal dialogue.
